After dealing with Realtors for 2 years I don’t think they know how to sell houses anymore. My house was shown the other day and we got feedback.
First of all she had been showing this woman houses that were 20k less than my house and then called mine overpriced.
We are already discounted for the times and are lower than a house just lilke mine by $6k and only $1k more than another house. We are almost $2k under the last one lilke mine that sold.
For starters why would she show a house that was $20k more than what she had been showing? Of course we are going to look overpriced. But that cheaper town house is out in the country, none of the big stores are close.
We are more settled and within 2-3 miles of doctors, national stores, boutique stores.
And after taking the time to come all the way over here from where they were why wouldn’t the Realtor try to upgrade the client if she could afford this house? More commission on her part. If the client couldn’t afford it why waste time showing it?
The Realtors today seem to take great delight in spending an entire showing 6-10 houses and still walk away without a sale. Do they not listen to what their buyers want?
When I was selling real estate I would be upset if I had spent a whole day showing houses with no result. I usually had a buyer within 2 or 3 houses. I listened, I previewed houses. Granted I was in the country and didn’t have as large a choice as they do now, but still Realtors shouldn’t be out all day with one client.
Show too many houses and it’s hard to remember which house had what even with notes.
Well my house will get sold and soon.
Winter has come. It’s unbelievably cold in this area. They say global warming but you couldn’t prove it here. When we first moved here in 2005 I think I only wore my heavy coat a few times and the next winter too and didn’t start till Jan.
Now it’s Nov and in the 30s, low 40s in the daytime already. No snow. The weekend we moved in we had a snow and sleet storm. Now I’m ready to dig out the heavy coat.
Am trying to keep the heat down but I think all this cold is making me sick so will probably have to turn it back up a bit.
In this morning’s AJC the Obama management team wants to make sure we all realize that they might not get their to do list accomplished in this term let alone in the first months or couple years.
If the troops leave Iraq they will just go to Afghanistan.
So Obama is already running for his second term.
Either way history would be made tonite, no matter which candidate won.
But it looks like Barack Obama will be the new president. I hope everyone will stand behind him as long as what he does is for the good of America and doesn’t make us more enemies worldwide.
The next president will be a woman and there will be no more government fundraising with its limits.

I never want to see another paint can. It seems like we have been painting most of the time since I got here in Feb. The houselooks very nice with all its fresh paint.
We found out that we don’t need Kilz for the walls. After buying about 3 or 4 cans of Kilz and priming the walls, we finally ran out. and we still had about half of a 5 gallon bucket or a little over of the wall paint.. So we decided we’d put two coats of the paint on the wall instead of buying more Kilz. This was a blue wall and afer we got done paiting and let it dry we looked at it and realized we didn’t need the second coat.
It even covered the pink/peach walls in my room in one coat. Rider’s room was white so it was no problem covering that.
I’d suggest in the future of trying a spot on the wall to see if it will cover in one coat. Certainly could have saved ourselves time and money if we had known this before.
