It’s been a long time since I posted. A lot has happened over the summer.
The house that was supposed to close on Jun 27 didn’t close untl Aug 22. I came back to GA with Rider and Dancer on Jun 26. Their 2 week stay was extended to 5 weeks, then they had the long flight to Phoenix by themselves where they stayed an extra month in a friends house with CG and GH and of course Violet.
GH drove a 24 foot fully loaded Budget truck from VA BEach to Phoenix. She left on Fri the 27th and arrived in Phoenix July 2nd. Violet rode with her.
They finally closed on their new house in Phoenix last week and are now settling in.
I’m settling back in the house in GA which still hasn’t sold. Nothing in this subdivision is selling, eventhe lower pricedhouses. In mid August I went back to VA and stayed with Tink and cleaned out what was left in the storage bin. Now i’m trying to merge two households of stuff in this condo.
My daughter’s house here in Virginia Beach has a contract after only 3 weeks. They should close the end of this month.
It sold for much less than it should have but they can make it work. But finally we are done with painting, major cleaning and repairs. The buyers had already been pre-approved for the loan.
I am sitting here waiting for the home inspection to be done. Then we have to get thru the appraisal and we are done.
Move date is the day of closing and I’ll be going back to GA. The girls may come visit with me for a couple of weeks while Gentle Hands and Computer Guy find a house in AZ
This is a great thing and a sad thing. I am happy they are moving to a place I think they will love. CG is already there and loves it and loves his job. But so sad to realize that they are so far away and there’s no driving for a day to get there and flights are very expensive. But they are pursuing their life’s desires and it’s all good.
Looks lilke we’ve sold the house here in VA. within a month or so GH, Dancer and rider will be going to Phoenix while GH goes to naturopathy school. Computer Guy is already out there and loves it. He is looking at houses now.
The listing on the GA house has expired, but we will relist it and think positive thoughts.
one in VA Beach is 4 bedroom, inground pool, 2 1/2 bath, living room, dining room, tv room, computer/playroom. Large yard , 1 car attached garage, 2 stories, most rooms freshly painted, new roof, new main bathroom, near everything. in Kempsville area off Princess Anne between Newtown and Witchduck.
Gentle Hands moving to Tempe AZ to go to medical school. Computer guy already there and loves it.
The house in cherokee county Ga for sale. 2 bdrm, 2 bath ranch condo, only 3 years old, near everything.
since I’ve written here. a lot has happened. We are getting GH’s house ready to sell Lots to do painting and yeard work redoing kitchen
have all the computers up and running. finally got my stuff into some sort of order.
ODU women won their 17th straight CAA conference and play NCAA first round Sun night at home. Dancer and Rider will be ball girls for the first session. It’s been a lot of fun going to the games.
We bought our tkts for the NCAA on Monday. Asked for our old seats and wound up with our current seats. I bet if we had asked for our current seats we wouldn’t have gotten them. UNC and VA are also playing here but not each other.
After we win on Tues night then it’s to Greensboro
have the car all registered in VA now.
Still no action on the house in GA It’s being shown about once every 3 weeks or so. Sure wish it would hurry up and sell.
Tink came down on Tues the 5th to help me pack. She did a wonderful job of packing the car and we left Woodstock GA about 7:15 am.
For a change there were no traffic slowdowns and we sailed thru at 70 mph most of the day. The weather was beautiful, we needed no jackets.
We arrived in Va Beach about 10 1/2 hrs later.
Meanwhile the condo in Va Beach is still available for sale. Come one come all and see it.
Today is Dancer’s 12th birthday. Lucky girl is getting 3 celebrations. One with grandparents, one before her daddy leaves and one after I get up there with me.
Tonite she and Swimmer are ball girls at the ODU womens basketball game.

to PiperMan. I was very unhappy not to be there to help him celebrate. This is his 4th birthday that I’ve missed. But he had a good lunch with his Aunt Tink.
Can’t believe he’s already 21. Seems like yesterday his Great Grandma was teaching him to crawl after he learned to walk. The doc said if he didn’t learn to crawl that it would mess up his reading. So Grandma decided to teach him. Must have worked because by the time he was 3 he was reading.
He’s growing into quite a young man with great goals.

Long, lonesome week here as Dancer and Rider left with their parents on Sun morning.
The one really good picture we took out didn’t come out, but we got
pictures of them playing in the rings of the Centennial Park, site of the 1996 Olympics. There’s a 10 min water show every so often. It was quite pretty but the granite seats were very very hot. Thought I was going to get blistered.
A picture with them and the Coca Cola bear came out well.
Some others didn’t tho.
We had a blast for the 5 weeks they were here. And we are all eagerly waiting for me to get home so I can be a part of their lives again.
GH and Computer guy are coming down on Friday and on Sunday will be taking the girls home. We’ve had such fun but I’ve spoiled them so badly. Letting them stay up late, going to the pool and staying for hours. they’ve made friends of some of the neighbors.
sunday after they leave it will be so quiet and lonely. Working on different options so i can get home sooner.
