aaarrrrghghghg Well, I made it back to Virginia Beach. Had a delightful drive with my oldest daughter driving the 26′ truck. We added a trailer for my car so I could ride in the truck with her. She handled it all like a pro.
We left about 5am to beat the Atlanta traffic and it worked. We sailed thru 75, 285 and back to 85 with no problems. It was interesting to see the sunrise. I tried to get pictures but they didn’t come out wonderfully, being in a bouncing truck.
We stopped only when we had to and it took just a little under 12 hrs to reach her in-laws house. The next day we had a couple of great young men to help us unload the truck. Somehow the owner of the house didn’t understand when I said a lot of boxes, probably just a path till I get to sort thru it all and he had a hissy fit, so the next afternoon we were reloading the truck and putting it all in storage.
So then the hunt for a room started. aargghg. Took me a month. and I finally wound up renting a room in a house in Hampton. So here I am in Hampton, close to my youngest daughter and life goes on
At last I’m moving. Things are moving along. I have a place to live, working on getting the actual move set up. We finally decided to go with renting a Budget truck and having people here to load it with the heavy furniture and and unload it once I get back to VA Beach.
Unfortunately we sold the house for about half of the value to one of those investment firms. And I now have 2 more weeks for moving sale and packing. Fortunately I have my friends coming to help me pack.
It’s been a long arduous journey and I will be glad to get a new start on life.
I have this neat ranch condo for sale in Cherokee county near the Cobb Cty line off Bells Ferry and Hwy 92.
The price has been reduced to $129900 and it’s a great place for an empty nester, downsizing, young professional, people who want their parents nearby.
You can see the details at condo4sale
Don’t forget that till April 30 there’s an $8000 tax credit for new buyers and a $6000 for qualifying residents selling their current homes
After dealing with Realtors for 2 years I don’t think they know how to sell houses anymore. My house was shown the other day and we got feedback.
First of all she had been showing this woman houses that were 20k less than my house and then called mine overpriced.
We are already discounted for the times and are lower than a house just lilke mine by $6k and only $1k more than another house. We are almost $2k under the last one lilke mine that sold.
For starters why would she show a house that was $20k more than what she had been showing? Of course we are going to look overpriced. But that cheaper town house is out in the country, none of the big stores are close.
We are more settled and within 2-3 miles of doctors, national stores, boutique stores.
And after taking the time to come all the way over here from where they were why wouldn’t the Realtor try to upgrade the client if she could afford this house? More commission on her part. If the client couldn’t afford it why waste time showing it?
The Realtors today seem to take great delight in spending an entire showing 6-10 houses and still walk away without a sale. Do they not listen to what their buyers want?
When I was selling real estate I would be upset if I had spent a whole day showing houses with no result. I usually had a buyer within 2 or 3 houses. I listened, I previewed houses. Granted I was in the country and didn’t have as large a choice as they do now, but still Realtors shouldn’t be out all day with one client.
Show too many houses and it’s hard to remember which house had what even with notes.
Well my house will get sold and soon.

Just thought I”d remind everyone that I still have the condo 4 sale here in Cherokee County near Woodstock, I75 and I575.
It’s a great place and if it was within 3 hours of the grandchildren in Va Beach, I would stay here.

WEll, I’m still sitting here in GA praying that the market gets better quickly and I can sell the condo.
they’ve sold another of the one stories so the builder only has 3 more ranch’s and 8 townhomes left to sell. then it might get easier for me to sell.
I finally did it. Made the first steps in selling the condo here in GA so I can move back to Va Beach. I listed the house on the owners.com website and Craigslist.org for Atlanta
So if you know anyone moving to the Atlanta area send them here

We are north of Atlanta (Acworth in Cherokee County) with easy access to I-75 and I-575. The foothills of the mountains. Very beautiful.
This is a relatively new neighborhood about 3 years old and they are still building new homes here. We are about 15-20 min from the mall depending if you go interstate or back roads. Near other major stores like superTarget, Super Walmart, Kohls, BJs wholesale club.
Don’t know exacatly where I’ll live when I get back to Va Beach, but hopefully close to Gentle Hands and family.
