we don’t want to “LOSE” weight. Because we are always trying to find what we have lost. We want to RELEASE it, let it go, find its own way.
Just a psychological game we play but truly when we do lose something, don’t we always spend time trying to find it.
Today was my goal to get all the junk food out. And I think I’m about over it.Â
I have a mince pie left and if I don’t eat the crust that’s not too bad.  My aunt always fussed at me cause I didn’t eat the crust of any pie. I always figured it was that much less fat to eat.
I did something today I very seldom do. When I was full I put the food away.  Threw out some chips, put the sausage and cheese back in fridge. They’ll probaby go in freezer tomorrow.Â
Had steak and shrimp and steamed asparagus for dinner. And a piece of mince pie a little wile ago. But will have to throw out the cool whip. i’ve had it too long and it doesn’t taste good.
That just leaves me with ice cream, some fruit cake that’s already in the freezer and some fudge that’s already in the freezer.Â
Why in the freezer?  If it’s in the freezer then I don’t see it every time I go to get water or go out in the kitchen. So then I’m not tempted by it.  I can keep fruitcake in the freezer at least a year with no ill effects.
So no more junk food. Sodas only once in awhile. HeeHee we’ll see how long this lasts. Good luck with your food goals this year.

It’s been a long time since I did any real baking. I’m still messy. Using lots of pans and spoons.
Today I made fruitcake and fudge.  Had to run to the store as we no longer have a sifter. What a difference a real sifter makes. I had been using a small colander type and it took forever to sift 2 cups of flour in it.
I believe the fruitcake turned out well. I haven’t tasted it yet but the batter sure was good. I soak the fruit in a cup of rum for a night.
Then I decided to make the fudge It’s been 2 years since I made any. So made it, spread it in the glass pan, and then sat in the chair to clean out the saucepan.  That was kind of neat, not having to fight anyone for the remains. But kind of lonely too. At home we always fight over who gets to lick what’s in the pot.
But as I was sitting licking the spoon I”m thinking there’s sometlhing wrong with this. It tasted kind of flat. Then it hit me I forgot to put the vanilla in at the end. I was so eager to get it in the glass pan that I completely forgot the vanilla was added at the end.  So I got up and ran into the kitchen and stirred in the vanilla.  What a difference in the taste! So yes vanilla does make a big difference, especially since I use the pure extract.
