We’ve been very hot but it cooled off a little today after the rain last night.  I sat outside this morning at our patio table and talked to Gentle Hands for 1/2 hour or so.
I get the Emergency severe weather reports, and received one for Va Beach tonight. Temps are supposed to be 100 with it feeling like 110 degrees.
It’s going to me mid-90s here in nw Georgia with no rain so that means hot probably almost 100 here.
And air quality will be bad. Here we don’t have safety checks for brakes and tires. We have emissions test cause the air is so bad here.
I have no clue what I did, but in case you are missing all the categories that were on the right hand side, they are all at the bottom of the page in the text part.
I had a spam comment and deleted it and was trying to post and it just did something funny and that’s the end result. I have written to the owner of the template to see if she can figure out how to fix it.
I’ve already tried putting it on a default theme and back to this one and it didn’t fix it. This happened a couple days ago, so rebooting isn’t the answer either.
what a day it’s been. Over on my other blog http://friendsfromtheark.com it took me 45 minutes to get the new Animal of the Week in right. It kept leaving big spaces so I had to keep deleting and starting over, but finally got it in.
then tonite I was adding Sandals links to my travel website http://travel-vacation-packages.com/honeymoons.htm    and they didn’t want to go in right either.  AAAAArrrrrrghghghghg!!!!!!!!
And on top of that it was like pulling teeth to even change screens. Usually this only happens at night after I’ve been to many websites during the day, but it was like this all day. I could almost nap in between screens. Very very frustrating.
Hopefully tomorrow will be better.
I found this interesting book in the library last week. They had very few books in their ‘new’ shelf. But this one looked interesting. And since they are talking about private space craft going up in the next few years I thought it was very appropriate.
The book is ORBIT by John J. Nance. About your average guy who won a trip on a private shuttle. It doesn’t go to ‘outer space’ but low ‘Earth orbit’.  Things happen to passengers so ultimately it’s just our guy and the pilot that goes up. It’s supposed to be a 6 hour tour passing around the world several times. But a meteorite hits the shuttle making for an interesting situation. The rest of the book tells the story of what happens to the shuttle and the two men in it.
The book is interesting, doesn’t boggle you down with too many statistics as some would. Kept my interest and I read it in two days.
I know that I surely wouldn’t want to be one of the first to go up in a shuttle. In fact, knowing me I probably wouldn’t ever want to. An airplane is about as high as I want to go. These shuttle trips are ranging from $250,000 to over a million. Sure could do a lot with that kind of money.
A group I’m in was discussing how much of a business person you are if you ALWAYS put your family first. Do you agree or not?Â
It’s great to say you’re a SAHM but when you are in business, the business has to be priority along with family and there has to be a way of coexistence. Â
It’s great to say that you are putting family first, but I’m sorry your family is not my problem.  I have ordered a product, usually for a gift or a special event and if you can’t get it to me in time, then I will just cancel the order and expect a refund, now!, not when you get around to it. I have to spend that money in the store now instead of your nice product.
And maybe an owner can skate once with the ‘family’ thing but somehow families have a way of always interfering.  I know because I have been a business owner of one type or another since 1982.   And my family has always interefered. But that is why I’ve always worked from home so I can handle these things that come up.Â
There’s always ball games, meets, recitals, practices, birthday parties, broken arms, a relative getting sick or a child getting sick. Dislocated shoulders, and knees. Usually things are handled in a few hours but some things can take days.
Seems family stuff happens at a critical business time, just when things seem to be taking off businesswise.  And it really isn’t fair to your customers or your reps, if you have them, to have to wait until the family settles down.  With kids there’s always something happening.
Also look at your emails.  They should come from your real name or your business name. Not ‘joesmom’ type. Cutesie doens’t work anymore.     Â

GymGirl and Dancer went home today. We managed to make it thru the long wait without crying but we were hugging a lot.Â
Their plane was 20 min late coming in so it was 20 min late leaving. I waited till I saw the plane up in the air.  Just wasn’t taking chances on something happening. We had momentary worry last night as we thought Tropical Storm Beryl was going to hit Newport News today but it went out to sea.
On Monday we went to see the movie Cars. It was great and the girls really liked it.
Yesterday we went to Lake Acworth Park at the Beach section off Dallas Dr.  The girls had a great time. I intended to stay for an hour or so but we stayed for 3 hours then went to BJs for a late lunch and Steak and Shake for a cookies and cream milkshake.
They were up till midnite last night packing and repacking but they got most of it done so we only had to pack animals and blankets this morning.
They arrived home late but safely and called and said they missed us.Â
Even my aunt misses them. She enjoyed having them so much.
They’ll come back next year sometime. Maybe spring break but definitely 2 weeks in the summer.Â
Why do you have to “put your two cents in”.. . but it’s only a “penny for your thoughts”? Where’s that extra penny going to?
Once you’re in heaven, do you get stuck wearing the clothes you were buried in for eternity?
Why does a round pizza come in a square box?
What disease did cured ham actually have?
How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?
Why is it that people say they “slept like a baby” when babies wake up like every two hours?
Why do people pay to go up tall buildings and then put money in binoculars to look at things on the ground?
Why do doctors leave the room while you change? They’re going to see you naked anyway.
Do the Alphabet song and Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star have the same tune?
Why did you just try singing the two songs above?
Dancer and GymGirl and I are having a blast. Lots of shopping, toys and school clothes.
Gentle Hands won’t be too thrilled with all the dolls but no more than I would have gotten them over the 2 years I’ve been gone.
We went to see Pirates of the Caribbean the other day and will probably go see Cars on monday.
We spent 2 1/2 hrs at the pool today. Was going to tell them time to go home when kids their age came in and they started races and all. So I let us stay later.
We also went to the mall for the Hallmark Christmas Ornament introductions. Was very disappointed in that Hallmark store’s display. It was all the way in the back but I had already walked out of the store because they only had a few Pooh ornaments upfront and no indication of any other display.   So we went to the store I normally go to and I signed up for the ornament club so i could get the special Charley Brown/Peanuts Christmas Tree ornament.  For $25 I got two special ornaments and the right to buoy a very special one that I can’t talk about here because it will be a Christmas present for someone who reads this blog.
I found a neat one that the girls and I were thrilled over for their Dad ComputerGuy. An dof course they found 3 or 4 they liked for themselves. They’re going to show them to their other grandmother.

Â
Dancer and GymGirl arrived safely.Â
I left for the airport about 550am and was there about 650am after stopping at McDonalds to get my breakfast.Â
The airport was a zoo. The Airtran check in line was thru 3 lines of ropes, down the side and around the corner. No one was there to do gate passes so I wint into the Atrium and had my breakfast.
Finally found the right line for a gate pass and had about 3 hours left until their flight arrived.
Since they had to wait for the flight attendant they were the last off the plane, one other little boy traveling unacompanied too.
The gate attendant checked my ID and I thought we were through and started to walk away. She called me back because I also had to sign for them. There’s a form that has to be signed by the person dropping them off and the person that picks them up.
I felt reassured because they carefully checked my ID and compared the picture. I almost thought they weren’t going to as the girls came running to me.
So all my anxious moments have been taken care of and I will let them come again by themselves without all the worry.
Oh and had I not gotten there on time they have a room they take the children to until they get picked up.
Â
4 days until GymGirl and Dancer arrive. We are anxiously awaiting Monday.
They are deciding which animals to bring with them and clothes and books as I have nothing here. We will be going to the pool probably a couple times a day, shopping a couple times.  I have some neighbors just a little younger that they might play with.
Meanwhile I”m trying to sort out the food they’ll eat which is a lot different than what we eat.
All in all should be a lot of fun. They are so grown up looking in the pictures their other grandmother is sending me, now that she’s learned how to download and send pictures, I”m getting them quite often.

As I sit here listening to the fireworks outside from the race track up the way and waiting for the Boston Pops celebration to start I opened this message from one of my travel agent friends.
